This episode discusses the impact of overcriminalizing the American justice system upon the hidden victims of the system: family members.  Children lose their parents, partners and spouses lose critical financial support, and both divorce and domestic abuse rise in critical numbers under a system where a substantial number of the country’s population are impacted by mass incarceration, both the inmates themselves and the family members left behind.  And in Montana, where the per capita incarceration rate is higher than literally anywhere else in the world, is it any wonder that the social discontinuity is so much greater?
